MY BEST PATISSERIES IN PARIS

MANALIN first edition

After various requests from friends around the globe, I will try to put together information on Paris gourmet on Manalin Guide . There will be no real ranking as it would be impossible for me to taste ALL patisseries (cakes, macarons etc.) in Paris. I only eat what I like (well, Saint Honore and millefeuille) ..So maybe it is not much of a guideline to you guys..

So, please use it for reference, ok?

-Best macarons

1. LADUREE  8.5/10

LADUREE SHOPS in Paris:

-16, Rue Royale

-21 Rue Bonaparte

-64 Boulevard Haussmann (Inside Printemps Department Store)

-75, Avenue des Champs-Elysées

All with tea rooms.

2. CARETTE 8/10

A little bit harder than Laduree's but I like their macarons as well.

All with tea rooms as well.

Carette in Paris:

-
25, place des Vosges

-4 Place Trocadéro

Best cake shops:
I can't rank them as it will depend on which cake you eat..

3.JACQUES GENIN 9/10

Their mille feuille is excellent! They prepare it for you only after receiving your order.

For Saint Honore lovers, this is a MUST!Chocolate, Vanilla and caramel choux with millefeuille as its base..

-Jacques Genin (With tea room)
133 Rue de Turenne

ps:(Update: please note that as of 2013, you have to pre-order Jacques Genin's cake at least a day before. They are no longer available at the cafe)
(注意:2013年からJacques Geninのケーキは注文販売のみに変わりました。)

4.PATISSERIE DE REVES 9/10

Saint Honore and tarte au citron

                                                  Millefeuille

No need to worry if you need to carry it all the way to your hotel!

Great millefeuille and Saint Honore but a bit pricey..

-La Patisserie de Reves

93 rue du Bac (no tea room)

111 rue de Longchamp (with tea room)

                                                Saint Honore

                                                     Millefeuille

                                              Saint Honore

You can order a BIG one too!

Le Notre is famous across the sea as well. As far as I know they have shops both in Japan and Thailand. Those who need something special that they could only find in Paris, you can cut Le Notre off your gourmet cake list ha ha!
